Liquidity Wines

JULIEN G. HÉBERT - is the Vineyard Manager at Liquidity Wines located near Okanagan Falls, British Columbia. 100% of Liquidity wines are estate grown and hand harvested. We use sustainable and time-tested viticultural practices to provide the finest growing environment for our vines. Great wines begin with great grapes.

Jullien joined the Liquidity team in 2015. He hails from Quebec having grown up on a dairy farm where he developed his passion for the land. His mother encouraged him to believe in himself and to follow his dreams, which led him to move to Quebec City as a teenager. There he worked in many different fields while trying to find his way, from a chef’s assistant in a high-end restaurant, to a cabinet maker, to working as a research assistant. He finally put himself through university by working as a dairy farmer, and graduated with a degree in Industrial Engineering.

His interest in wine grew resulting in a trip to the Okanagan in 2014 to explore and learn. He worked in a cellar as an assistant winemaker, and was able to work with grapes from throughout the valley, learning about the different varieties and the subtlety of terroir. Believing that wine is made first and foremost in the vineyard has led him back to his first love – the land – and this position has provided him with the chance to connect with the soul of nature and the unique opportunity to grow grapes in exceptional terroir.

Ruth Hanbury

is the general manger at the winery. She is from Derbyshire in England, grew up being able to travel extensively across the European wine growing regions thanks to her food and wine loving family. MA in Management from the University of St Andrews in Scotland, Ruth went on to work as a consultant to English local authorities on the implementation of Government Policy.

However her love of wine brought her to BC in 2012

Ian MacDonald

is Liquidity’s hands-on manager and president because of his interest in viticulture. Born in Montreal in 1954, the grandson of a farmer, he worked in Calgary in the 1980s as a vice-president of sportswear-maker Sunice, an official supplier to the 1988 Winter Olympics. “I fell in love with the Olympics,” Ian says. He formed a company called Moving Products Inc., which has been involved in arranging non-athletic uniforms at every Olympics since then. He and his partners, Calgary business executives, had looked for good vineyard property for several years before this property on Allendale Road came onto the market.
